Dean was the founding CEO of ServiceIQ, a New Zealand based Industry Training Organisation for the New Zealand service sector, covering aviation, tourism, travel, cafes, bars, restaurants, accommodation, food services, clubs, quick service restaurants, museums, retail and retail supply chain.
Before leading ServiceIQ he was CEO of Entello Group Pty Ltd in Brisbane, Chief Operating Officer with CareFlight Queensland (now LifeFlight), was General Manager Business Development with Aviation Australia and he started his career in the Royal New Zealand Air Force as an aircraft engineer.
In several of his previous roles, Dean has had direct involvement in industry skills training, leading or with key involvement with registered training organisations (RTOs) and an Industry Skills Council in Australia. During his time at Aviation Australia, CareFlight and Entello, he was instrumental in the development of international business in South Africa, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Recognising the emergence of Digital Skills Dean also engaged as an early member of the Professional Pathways Working Group Member of the Digital Skills Forum.
Dean was also the founder of Stride4, a company that provides supported and authentic work experience, matching people with employers. Stride4 was founded on a key belief that real experience cannot be beaten when informing career decisions and that a supported work experience pathway ultimately supports an enduring employment relationship and lifelong learning
Qualifications / Professional Memberships
Dean is a Company Director, a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, an active member of the Career Development Association of Australia (CDAA), a former member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors, the CEO Institute and a graduate of the New Zealand Institute Management.
Dean is also a licenced aircraft engineer, scuba dive instructor and holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
